- Description
Accessing lateral connections without surface disruption is one of the most operationally complex tasks in pipeline inspection — and the Minicam Proteus Lateral System is built specifically to handle it. The LAT150 self-propelled crawler enters the mainline through a standard manhole, travels to the lateral connection under its own power, and deploys a camera unit deep into the lateral pipe, capturing detailed inspection data with no excavation and no man-entry required.
The system is equally capable across a broad range of applications: pre-acceptance surveys, cross-bore detection, inflow and infiltration investigations, and structural condition assessments. Standard Equipment is an authorized Minicam dealer providing Proteus Lateral System sales, training, and service support.
Features
- Mainline traversal in pipes from 6" diameter: Minicam's patented quick-release wheel system gives the LAT150 access to mainlines as small as 6 inches, with wheel size options of 3.5", 4.5", and 5.5" to match the application.
- Lateral inspection capability down to 2.5": The self-propelled lateral camera unit reaches connections as small as 2.5 inches, smaller than most competing lateral launch systems.
- Over 150 feet of lateral deployment range: Provides the reach necessary for comprehensive structural and operational surveys of lateral connections, including long private service lines.
- 8-wheel drive as standard: Eight driven wheels provide the traction and stability needed to power through in-pipe debris and navigate around common mainline obstacles.
- Observation and reversing cameras included: Both cameras are fitted as standard, giving the operator full situational awareness during deployment and retrieval.
- CAM050 – Pan-Tilt Camera with Laser Measurement: Continuous 360° rotation and ±135° pan, with an integrated distance sensor and twin lasers for accurate measurement of pipe diameter, defect size, and object distances within the lateral pipe.
